Mary Ann was the first born in New Orleans Louisiana to Willie (21) and Ellen (19) Harrison. They moved to Vallejo, CA when she was 2 and was raised there with her siblings. Being the oldest and being a girl she was required to help look after your youngers sisters and brothers because that’s what girls back then did.
In another day and another time she might have been a psychologist. She loved to talk with people. She wanted to understand their thinking. Opportunities of her day were limited for women. Her career choice fit her perfectly. She became a beautician. Much like the barber shop environment, customers came and customers talked. While at work she was in her element.
Mary Ann was also the wife of Charles Robinson, a career Marine. Because his job required him to be away from home for a year at a time, she spent several years raising her three children independent of his physical support. During that time she became a Cub Scout Den Mother for her sons and worked closely with her daughter, Kelly when she was active in the Brownies (Girl scouts).

She loved her Bingo!
